HOST HIGHLIGHTS: BUBBLER B
Good radio doesn't happen by accident. Host Highlights is a series celebrating the SIBLING RADIO hosts who are putting in the work, setting the vibe, and keeping our broadcast alive.
Next in this series is our very own Bubbler B, host of Eurotrippin.
What was the very first record or song that made you fall in love with music?
If I think baaaaacccckkkkkk, it's probably Hey Ya by Outkast. Back in 2003, watching that music video at my cousin’s house, that song was always in my head. Everything about it is amazing and everyone loved it.
What is the most memorable (or chaotic) thing that has ever happened to you while trying to record your show?
Literally during recording my most recent show, my mum calls me because someone has come into the estate, sprayed juice all over my door and my neighbour’s doors and left. I had to rerecord the show and we are still on the lookout for the culprit.
Every host has a "pre-show" routine. What’s the one thing you have to do before you get on the mic/decks?
I got to make sure that I have water to drink throughout the show, I don’t want you to hear a dry mouth Bubbler B. I’m usually anxious before recording so sometimes I gotta step out of my own bedroom and talk myself into doing the show and convincing myself that everything will be fine.
What is one artist or song you think is criminally underrated and deserves more airtime?
By Storm. Those guys completed music this year and everyone should thank them and return to farming now. That being said, I’ve never played them as they aren’t European so I’m part of the problem too.
If you could only be remembered for one show you’ve done, which would it be and why?
It would have to be the first ever EuroTrippin from August 2025. That was everything that the show is about, multi-genre, multi-country, not bait artists mostly and it was the first real result of me trying to make things happen for myself.
What does radio mean to you and why do you think it’s important to the culture?
For me, it’s about musical discovery. I believe the purpose of radio is to take people out of their normal bubble of whatever they listen to and whatever is going on in the charts and show them something new. It’s important for artists too, as they can get a curator saying this is quality and putting them in the world without some major label or whatever and they get a little ps.
