Why we started SIBLING RADIO
If you’ve spent any time on NTS, The Lot Radio, or Rinse FM, you know that online radio is about a lot more than just playing music or listening to a show. It’s the community we want to build, a connection when you hear a track for the first time, or a conversation that feels like you’re hanging out in the studio with the host.
Both Ben and I have spent years DJing and hosting different shows on different stations, dabbling in podcasting while being musicians ourselves. We eventually realised we wanted to build a space of our own.
Enter SIBLING RADIO.
Giving people a start
The main thing for us is the "platform" aspect. Radio has always been a place of exploration, discovery and connecting with niche communities you never had before. A huge portion of our residents are doing radio for the first time. We aren’t looking for pro DJs and hosts, we’re looking for people who are obsessed with what they love and want to share it even though they have no idea how to share it.
(tbh all of my favourite shows are from people doing it for the first time)
What to expect on the air
We don't really have a "sound," and we like it that way. You’ll hear everything from Reggae, Jazz, and Hip Hop to Movie Scores, Techno, and Bass music. Sometimes you’ll hear a straight-up club mix, other times it’s a deep-dive talk show.

If you want a show that really encapsulates what a SIBLING show can be, listen to Big Temp Talks. It’s one of my personal favourites. It’s a show about video game news, and it’s so well-produced and paced that I always tune in every time it’s on. High-quality radio.

We’re planning more socials and live events this year so we can actually get everyone in the same room. SIBLING is a work in progress, but it’s a community we’re really proud of.
